The Opera Express brings Philadelphia area opera lovers to performances in New York and Washington D.C. to see some of the most exciting singers and productions in the world at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and more while providing educational content on the trip.

In October 2023, Mike joined the team at Discover My Italy as the opera expert for an exciting six-day opera excursion to the birthplace of opera!

The inaugural trip was between October 6-12, 2023. Six days, three beautiful Italian cities, three iconic venues, two treasured operas, and one that may be unfamiliar to many. Mike will provide lectures and insights throughout the trip. Performances included 

  • Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at La Scala with Ildebrando d'Archangelo

  • Verdi's I Due Foscari  (with Luca Salsi and Francesco Meli) and La Traviata at La Fenice in Venice
